Had dinner with my Dad at Jack's the other night and it was a great experience. The restaurant was very very clean, the food was delicious, and the service was great! The newly remolded restaurant looked great! Shelly was our waitress and she did a fantastic job! I had the fish tacos and my dad had the prime rib and we enjoyed every bite! I would definitely recommend Jack's Restaurant and will be going again soon! I hear their Sunday Brunch is very good!

For what it is (a hotel restaurant) it's just fine. The food is reliably good, and the menu is predictable. Their egg buritto is the best of the menu options we tried - very good with the salsa and sour creme. Everything else is pretty much what you'd expect. For breakfast: it's expensive - plan to spend $10 - $12 a person for breakfast with coffee, juice and breakfast. We had vouchers from our hotel stay, so ate their every day - otherwise, probably would have tried other places on other days. The vouchers brought our price down to under $20 cash each morning, which was reasonably. Would I recommend: For breakfast, probably not, unless you have vouchers from hotel stay. Would I return: Well - if I was staying at the hotel and had vouchers, yes. Food was reliable.

Incompetent service. We waited 45 minutes for our order to get to the table. Food was nothing special

The food was very good, three of us had salads and one had a corn beef sandwich.

Visited Jack's this past Saturday. I am a local and have been coming here for the past couple of year's. WHAT has happened to this place? The food was terrible AGAIN. I am not sure what happened to the Chef that was cooking in the kitchen over the past couple of years but staff informed me he has left and you can tell. I ordered the perch and it was way overdone and the breading was a soggy mess when it arrived to my table. My wife has the top sirloin, ordered medium, and it was soo rare it may still have been alive. Is anyone qualified cooking in this restaurant. We will not return to Jack's to eat ever again. There are many better options in the area across the bridge. Extremely over priced but the service staff is a pleasure and very nice!! It seems they can't keep a good Chef when they have one, that guy kicked ass!! The only thing this restaurant has gong for it is the location on the water. Give up on the food or get everyone really drunk before they eat!! I joined yelp just to inform other diners what they are in for when they visit this "to far gone to recover" restaurant.

The menu and quality of food surpassed my expectation. Had a 10.99 prime rib special on a Wednesday night that was advertised as 8oz. Looked more like 12oz. It was cooked perfectly and very very flavorful. Also ordered a side spinach salad with bacon vinaigrette- deep green, fresh and very tasty. Staff was nice and always attentive and the manager was pleasant and appreciative as well. Staying here in a week or so again and will post more pics and reviews. Update...after seeing the desserts (which are made onsite) I could not pass up the crème brûlée. Had to stop short of licking the bowl.

The dinner was quite disappointing....I so looked forward to the "lightly battered perch (for $19.99) and it arrived deep fried! Awful... Nice setting and server.....would not go back...

We had dinner 7/24/14....both of us had salads...no bread basket offered, no refill on my Water...soup came at the same time as dinner...don't like that. Food was good but over priced. Service was so so....

First, it's called Jack's. I couldn't find a way to submit a change. Second, what an uppity prior reviewer! Yes, the crowd is typically the 35-55 crowd, but it's a hotel bar, not a trendy hotspot. And if you come in the summer, you'll likely see people in resort wear...duh! Moshing? I doubt it, and why is drinking and dancing "not a good idea"? Finally, Spring lake is a small sister town to Grand Haven...why would it being a "hopping place" make you sad? Please, prior reviewer, remove the corn cob...Jack's is what it is. And if you'd drink your cocktail instead of using it as a prop, you'll avoid the watered-down taste.

I was surprised at the reviews for this place - as I think it is better than they would lead one to believe. First thing to mention - this restaurant is in a hotel, it is the restaurant for the Holiday Inn Spring Lake and I imagine most people eating here are guests of the hotel (as we were). Hotel restaurants often are the best prices, so that's nothing shocking. I wouldn't say its a great value but it's also not that expensive. The place has a nice setting/view as its on the water and they have both inside and outside tables right by the boat slips that surround the hotel. We had breakfast there twice and both were very good, the first day we ordered off the menu and I was very happy with my breakfast. Breakfast is hard to screw up but it was one of the better hotel breakfasts I had in a while. The next day was the sunday brunch which is a bit pricey ($12.99 I think) but was very good. They had these cream-cheese orange zest filled crepes that were great as well as standard fare, omlette station, waffles, breakfast potatoes, etc. The waffles were better than you usually get at these places and i liked that they had them cut into 1/4s so you didn't have to put a giant waffle on your place along with everything else, it's not like you can't go back for more if you want more. They also had a yogurt parfait station which was surprisingly good. We also had lunch there - I had the perch sandwich and it was very good! Fish was fresh (most important thing) and seasoned/fried well (second most important thing). The tartar sauce was good, a bit more bun than needed but overall very happy with it. Fries were decent, nothing to write home about. My sister in law had a steak wrap that I was eyeing she said it was amazing while the kids mac N cheese looked like it came from that blue box. But overall we were happy with the meals and the place, its' definitely a good addition to the hotel - I don't know if I would drive out my way to eat there but if you're staying at the holiday Inn don't shy away!

The bar part of Jack's is a happen' place! And the bartenders very helpful. Agreed, the restaurant is pretty good for what it is... a hotel restaurant. We had a gift certificate for both the hotel and Jack's, so what the heck... We had breakfast at Jack's. Eggs, pancakes, bacon. It was all very good. With so many other interesting options for dinner in GH, we didn't try Jack's dinner.

The entree was good but the service was very slow, we were up charged twice without explanation(however they fix the charges after we asked). If your looking for up scale food go to Two Tonys.

I love eating at Jack's for breakfast! It's a classy atmosphere without spending too much, and the food is good. Drinks are definitely pricy, but the fact that they have a comedy night in Spring Lake is outstanding. One of the best things to do in town.

Where do you go when you are in Spring Lake MI? Was down there for a wedding. Jake's was the bar in our hotel. Apparently it is one of the only places in Spring Lake which is open late. The drinks : Ok, pretty watered down. The food: Bar food but the pita pizza was yummy... worth trying. The crowd: Older men wearing printed shirts. When I say printed I mean with palm trees, flowers and other assorted fruits. There was actually an older guy wearing a black and shiny gold shirt. I was amused! The music: Live music with a lot of 80's songs being played. Old guys moshing on the dance floor + alcohol = not a good idea. Definitely one of the more hopping places in Spring Lake which makes me feel a bit sad. Almost.

Menu has dropped a lot of great meals, and service has been pretty bad. We've had three undercooked meals, the wrong wine bottle, and another corked. We don't go anymore.

The atmosphere seemed encouraging enough, clean and bright, filled with patrons who appeared to be enjoying their food, but once our meals arrived, the veil was lifted and the shock and disappointment set in. The omelette was decent, as an omelette is difficult to mess up, but the avocado inside was raw, crisp and tasteless. My girlfriend's wrap was soggy and also full of raw avocado. The pancakes tasted almost exclusively of baking soda, even though they were full of blueberries. No amount of syrup, jam, or butter could mask the flavor. The waitress never asked us how the meal was, so we sat with our food on the edge of our table until the bus boy took out plates. We expressed our dissatisfaction and he responded with a look of puzzled bewilderment. He didn't inform the waitress apparently, as when she brought our bill she was unaware of the situation. The restaurant had come highly recommended so it was an uncomfortable conversation, but she spoke with the manager who in turn comped our entire meal. We still left a 20% gratuity as a show of gratitude, but I can say with all honesty that this will be our first and last visit to Jack's.
